Cleartone Treated Acoustic 80/20
All Cleartone Acoustic 80/20 Strings are MADE IN USA at our Bountiful Utah factory using only the finest US-sourced
wrapped wire around a high-carbon hex core.

We wind our strings under super high tensions using proprietary winding methods and core-to-wrap ratios which creates
a denser, better sounding string with enhanced tuning stability.

Lastly, we add our multi-patented award winning treatment which is scientifically proven to increase your guitar's
volume and sustain by up to 36% & 48% respectively.

Syntetic version of the Gut & Silk 900
Up to the middle of the 20th century, the only available strings for guitar were plain gut for trebles
and silk wound strings for basses: their acoustical performance was quite different from that of modern
stringings.
The salient characteristics were: a marked tonal presence, a response and brightness typical of gut strings
(certainly superior to plain nylon and in some respects closer to fluocarbon strings) while, on the other
hand, basses had an exquisitely vocal quality, i.e. not so bright as, and with less sustain than modern
wound on nylon strings, with a sound that was richer in fundamental frequencies.

Our Ambra 900 set was developed keeping in mind this historical fact, in order to best re-create, by
means of modern synthetic materials, the sound of gut and silk-wound basses of that times.

This set was conceived for one grade of tension only, and consists of gut-coloured Supernylgut® trebles,
with a rectified surface exactly as it’s made on gut strings, adopting the representative mean diameters
as indicated by Pujol in his method “Escuela Razonada de la Guitarra” of 1934. Basses have a silver-plated
copper winding over special multifilament core, that we call ‘Rayon’, and are specifically balanced between
metal and core in order to achieve the same texture of sound found in the original silk-wound strings.

Thunder-reds is a set made with three different types of synthetic elastomer. In the third and
fourth strings, the density of the elastomeric material is also increased by adding micronized
metal copper powder during the extrusion phase.
This technological solution allows for the same working tension to have smaller diameters, greater
volume and sustain than any type of polyurethane and silicone rubber strings available on the market.
The Thunder-reds ensure fast and stable intonation. Thanks to the metallic powder there is also a great
slipperiness of the fingers on the strings.

String color: dark burnt red

These innovative bass strings use copper instead of stiff metals like steel or nickel, resulting in a richer
acoustic performance due to the higher density of copper. Additionally, the strings feature a bioplastic
monofilament core called ‘Sugar‘, which has excellent acoustic performance and is produced exclusively by Aquila
on a global scale.

Revolutionize Your Sound with Our Groundbreaking Wound Bass Strings
These strings are truly innovative for at least two reasons. Firstly, they do not use metals like steel or nickel,
that are stiff, but instead they use pure copper that is softer and has higher density and result in richer acoustic
performance. In fact higher the density, better the sound. Secondly, these strings feature a bioplastic
monofilament core called ‘Sugar‘, which is exclusively produced by Aquila on a global scale. Sugar has been
proven to have superior acoustic performance compared to other plastic materials, as evidenced by laboratory
measurements.
